The Yankee Hill Historical Society was founded in 2002 to preserve the Messilla Valley Schoolhouse and preserve the history of the Yankee Hill area. That same year, the society moved the 1856 Messilla Valley School from Pentz to Concow Road in Yankee Hill, Butte County, Ca where it was restored and now serves as a community center and as our headquarters. We also maintain this virtual museum to digitally preserve the area’s history.
Yankee Hill Historical Society is located in Butte County in Northern California. The area has a rich history. We are a small all volunteer organization with a big goal. We want to share our history through firsthand accounts with everyone, young and old, anywhere in the world 24 hours a day with our virtual presence!
